Near-field communication (NFC) is a set of communication protocols that enables communication between two electronic devices over a distance of 4 cm (1 1/2 inches) or less.

All modern mobile phones are equiped with NFC technology so they can read data off of NFC tags or devices. Users can just hold there mobile phone near and NFC tag to read the data. No external Apps are required.

The technology in the NFC Chip that is contained in the FC Safety Shield allows for registering an inspection, without the need for an app.
